YTN Liquid-Filled Vibration-Resistant Pressure Gauges

Description

Steady readings in vibrating and pulsating systems

YTN gauges use an internal damping liquid to reduce pointer movement caused by mechanical vibration and pressure pulsation. Glycerin is the standard fill, with silicone-oil configurations available for selected conditions. Applications include pumps, compressors, hydraulic equipment, machinery and industrial pipelines.

The family includes copper-alloy wetted versions and stainless steel configurations. Choose the complete wetted-material specification for the medium; a stainless steel case alone does not establish a stainless pressure path.

Specify the material configuration together with the model designation. The stainless YTN-100BF alloy grade and complete wetted build should be selected for the process. Pressure span, thread, dial markings and special materials can be customized.

Family pressure selections include vacuum service and positive full-scale values of 0.1, 0.16, 0.25, 0.4, 0.6, 1.0, 1.6, 2.5, 4.0, 6.0, 10, 16, 25, 40, 60 and 100MPa, according to configuration. The YTN-60BF stainless version lists -0.1 to 0.60MPa with customization. Choose an individual calibrated span suited to the system.

For steady service, the recommended working pressure is 1/3 to 2/3 of full scale; for fluctuating pressure, use 1/3 to 1/2. Liquid fill improves readability and damping but does not increase the pressure rating. Scale choices include MPa, psi, bar and kgf/cm², with dual MPa/psi dials available.

YTN-40 weighs approximately 92.7g, YTN-60 176g, YTN-60Z 182.5g and the 100mm brass-component version approximately 750g. Temperature influence relative to 20°C ±5°C is ≤0.4% per 10°C for YTN-40, <0.4% per 10°C for YTN-60/60Z, and ≤0.4%FS per 10°C for the 100mm brass-component version.

Installation and maintenance

Before installation, confirm the range, thread, fill type and zero position. Select a location with reduced vibration and convenient access, seal and tighten the connection correctly, and introduce pressure gradually. Safely release trapped gauge pressure before checking return to zero.

Check for pointer sticking, persistent zero error, fill leakage, discoloration or cloudiness. Stop use if these occur and arrange inspection or calibration. Replenishment uses the same fill type through the supplier's service procedure. Professional calibration is recommended every 6–12 months.
