Stainless Steel Automatic Water Level Control Valves

Description

Mechanical control of tank filling

These automatic fill valves use a float mechanism and supply-water pressure to maintain the water level in a tank. Falling water opens the valve; rising water closes the inlet at the set level. The mechanism operates without electrical wiring or an external controller.

The 304 stainless steel body and threaded connection suit clean-water storage and replenishment systems. Applications include rooftop tanks, residential reservoirs, industrial water storage, irrigation supplies and the water-supply side of solar water-heater systems.

Installation configurations

ConfigurationPipe layoutMounting options
Top inletSupply enters from above through the straight connectionInternal or external installation
Side inletSupply enters horizontally through the elbow connection

An internal valve mounts inside the tank or water tower. An external version mounts outside and uses a connecting hose to follow the tank level, allowing access where internal space is limited. Specify the required version and complete connection arrangement.

Technical specifications

ParameterSpecification
TypeAutomatic float-operated water level control valve
Body material304 stainless steel
Threaded connection material304 stainless steel
Nominal connection sizes1/2in, 3/4in and 1in
Operating temperature0–70°C
Working pressure0.1–10bar

Use the 70°C limit for the complete valve assembly. The stainless steel body alone does not determine the temperature capability of the internal float and sealing components.

Illustrated connection dimensions

The following interface measurements identify the pictured internal configurations. Values are in mm; they are dimensional references, separate from the nominal pipe-size designation.

Specify the exact thread standard and mating fitting when selecting a connection. The dimensional attachment includes the stainless steel configurations in a separate section.

Filtration and maintenance

The inlet filter and internal filtration structure help protect the closing mechanism from debris. A serviceable retaining arrangement allows the filter to be removed for inspection and cleaning. Keep the water passages and moving float clear so the valve can refill and shut off correctly.

The lower housing openings and retaining assembly provide access to the valve's water passages.

Selection and commissioning

Choose the inlet orientation, internal or external mounting, nominal connection and installation space for the tank. Check that the supply pressure remains within 0.1–10bar; insufficient pressure can affect filling speed and closing performance. Flush the supply pipe, provide access for maintenance and test the automatic filling and shutoff sequence after installation.

Use clean, noncorrosive water. Avoid steam, heavy sludge, corrosive liquids and large particles. For heated systems, verify that water reaching the valve remains within 0–70°C. Connection dimensions, mounting structure, material and inlet orientation can be specified for the project.
