EM5000 Miniature Mechanical Differential Pressure Gauges

Description

Compact mechanical indication for low air pressure

The EM5000 measures positive, negative or differential pressure using a magnetic helix movement and a clear pointer dial. It requires no external power or liquid fill. A reinforced nylon housing, polycarbonate lens and PTFE pointer provide a compact assembly for HVAC, filter monitoring, cleanrooms, ventilation ducts, fans, dust extraction and laboratory equipment.

Pressure ranges and performance

ParameterSpecification
Measuring mediumAir and compatible noncorrosive gases
Pa / kPa scales0–125Pa, 0–250Pa, 0–500Pa, 0–1kPa, 0–2.5kPa and 0–3kPa
Water-column scales0–25mmH₂O and 0–50mmH₂O
Accuracy±5%FS at 21.1°C
Operating temperature-7°C to 60°C for the current specified configuration
Continuous total-pressure rating30psig, approximately 2.067bar, at either pressure port
Surge-pressure rating50psig, approximately 3.445bar
Housing / lensReinforced nylon / polycarbonate
PointerPTFE
FinishBlack
Standard connectionRear barbed connections for 3/16in inside-diameter tubing
Optional connection1/8in NPT male pressure ports
Reference overall dimensions73.82mm × 61.93mm
Reference weight170g
Power supplyNot required

Total-pressure ratings refer to the pressure applied to the case connections, separately from the low differential measuring span. Surge capacity does not increase the continuous operating rating.

Dial choices and zero adjustment

EM5000 gauges with kPa and Pa dial scales
Different dial scales cover low-pressure air-monitoring applications.
Magnified view of the EM5000 pointer and pressure scale
A clear scale and front zero adjustment support local readings.

To zero the gauge, vent both ports and keep the instrument in its final mounting position. Remove the front cover by turning it counterclockwise, then use the hex key on the adjustment below the ZERO marking. Replace the cover after adjustment. Re-zero whenever the operating orientation changes; ranges below 5inH₂O equivalent use vertical mounting unless separately calibrated.

Metric mounting dimensions

FeatureM3 mounting construction
Flush panel openingØ66.5mm
Mounting holesTwo M3 threads on 59.85mm centers
Pressure-port positions22.66mm vertical spacing and 1.44mm lateral offset
Port reference diametersØ10.2mm and Ø6.3mm
Bracket holesTwo Ø3.5mm holes on 59.85mm centers; Ø19.75mm center opening
Surface-mount panel holesTwo Ø10.5mm pressure-port clearance holes and two Ø4mm mounting holes
Mounting hardwareTwo M3×40mm screws, two M3 nuts and one flush-mount bracket

For flush mounting, insert the gauge through the panel and place the bracket over the upper port marked “-”. Secure the screws and nuts. For surface mounting, pass the two pressure ports through their clearance holes and secure the gauge vertically. Keep the overpressure-relief opening unobstructed.

Pressure connections and maintenance

The upper port is low pressure, marked LO or “-”; the lower port is high pressure, marked HI or “+”. For positive pressure, connect HI and vent LO. For vacuum, connect LO and vent HI. For differential pressure, connect the higher and lower pressures to the matching ports. Avoid overtightening optional threaded fittings.

No lubrication or scheduled maintenance is required. Keep the cover clean, inspect the pressure tubing and periodically check zero with both sides vented. For a calibration check, connect a suitable reference gauge in parallel through a tee, apply pressure slowly and compare stable readings.

The English manual includes complete operating procedures and both metric and earlier imperial mounting details. Use the dimensions and fasteners matching the supplied construction.
