Description

Air-temperature and humidity monitoring

ELH transmitters combine relative-humidity sensing with temperature measurement for HVAC, clean rooms, laboratories, greenhouses, warehouses and industrial environmental monitoring. Select a wall-mounted, duct-mounted or split-probe arrangement to place the sensing element where it can sample representative air.

Output choices include RS485/Modbus, 0–10VDC and 4–20mA. Passive temperature-element options are also available. An optional LCD shows temperature, humidity and units; current-output versions use a display without backlighting.

Measurement and environment

ParameterSpecification

Humidity accuracy±2%RH or ±3%RH grade at 25°C; the ±3%RH specification is qualified over 20–80%RH
Humidity response≤10s at 25°C in slowly flowing air
Temperature range0–50°C, -20°C to 60°C or a specified custom range
Digital temperature accuracy±0.3°C from 5°C to 60°C
Passive temperature accuracy±0.2°C or ±0.4°C at 25°C, according to element type
Operating environment-20°C to 60°C; 5–95%RH, noncondensing
EnclosureABS or PC construction according to configuration
Probe and filterPC probe with polymer filter; optional stainless steel probe with sintered or mesh filter
ProtectionIP65 with enclosure and cable-entry seals installed

Power and load selection

Output configurationSupply and load
Voltage / RS485 family15–35VDC or 24VAC ±20%; the ELH101 PC-enclosure configuration specifies 15–32VDC
500Ω current-output configuration18.5–35VDC at RL=500Ω; 8.5–35VDC at RL=0Ω; maximum load 500Ω
Voltage-output loadAt least 2kΩ
AC-powered RS485Use an isolated 24VAC supply

Match the ordered output module to its supply and load rating. The humidity current loop powers the current-output instrument and must remain connected, even when only temperature is monitored.

Probe filter and internal electronics

ELH probe filter protecting the temperature and humidity sensing area
The probe filter limits dust and contamination reaching the sensing element.
ELH transmitter circuit board inside the sealed enclosure
The control circuit provides signal conversion and power-protection functions.

Terminal arrangements

OutputTerminal order, left to right
RS485B, A, GND, V+, PGND
0–10VT, RH, GND, V+, PGND
4–20mAT, V+, RH
Passive temperature elementR+, R−

T identifies temperature and RH identifies humidity. Use the diagram for the supplied output configuration. For current output, connect V+ to supply positive and route each output through its receiving input to supply negative, keeping the RH loop active.

Ordering and installation

The supported example ELH101-3A4A411 specifies wall mounting, ±3%RH / ±0.3°C grade, humidity and temperature 4–20mA outputs, a 0–50°C temperature span and an LCD. Temperature range codes 1, 2 or 8 apply only to V10 or A4 temperature outputs; other temperature-output choices use range code 0.

Mount wall enclosures vertically with the probe downward, away from local heat/cold sources, direct sunlight and rain. Use the flange to set duct-probe insertion depth and seal the finished opening against air leakage. Check the actual mounting pattern before drilling and preserve the cover gasket and cable-gland seals when closing the enclosure.
