ELECALL electromagnetic flowmeters measure conductive liquids in water treatment, chemical processing, electroplating wastewater, textile dyeing, pulp and slurry systems. The unobstructed measuring tube has no moving parts, keeping pressure loss low. A backlit dot-matrix LCD displays flow data and provides access to configuration menus.
Integrated, split and insertion arrangements are available. The illustrated flanged integrated meter uses reinforced lining construction, copper excitation coils and protected electronics. Select electrode and lining materials for the liquid, concentration and temperature, then specify the installation, power supply and output configuration.

| Material | Chemical-service guidance |
|---|---|
| Molybdenum stainless steel, 0Cr18Ni12Mo2Ti | Nitric acid; sulfuric acid below 5% at room temperature; boiling phosphoric acid; acetic acid; alkali solutions; sulfurous acid under specified pressure conditions; seawater |
| Hastelloy C / Hastelloy B, HC / HB | Grade-dependent selection for oxidizing acids and salts, seawater, nonoxidizing acids and salts, alkalis and sulfuric acid at room temperature |
| Titanium, Ti | Seawater, chlorides, hypochlorites, oxidizing acids including fuming nitric acid, organic acids and alkalis |
| Tantalum, Ta | Broad chemical resistance, including boiling hydrochloric and nitric acids and sulfuric acid below 175°C; excludes hydrofluoric acid, fuming sulfuric acid and alkalis |
| Platinum, Pt | Acids, alkalis and salts; excludes aqua regia |
Choose the individual alloy for the actual concentration and temperature. Material compatibility alone does not raise the complete flowmeter's operating-temperature rating.
| Lining | Properties | Applications and material reference temperatures |
|---|---|---|
| Neoprene | High elasticity, tear strength and abrasion resistance; resists ordinary acid and alkali concentrations; unsuitable for oxidizing media | Water, wastewater, mud and ore slurry. Generic material guide lists 80°C and 120°C without configuration assignments. |
| PTFE / F4 | Chemical resistance to boiling hydrochloric, sulfuric and nitric acids, aqua regia, concentrated alkalis and organic solvents | Strongly corrosive and hygienic media; generic material range -40°C to 180°C |
| Polyurethane | Abrasion resistance described as approximately ten times natural rubber; poor acid and alkali resistance | Neutral abrasive ore and coal slurries; material guide specifies below 80°C |
| F46 / FEP | Chemical properties similar to F4; improved resistance to negative pressure; higher price | Applications as for F4; no independent temperature value supplied |
| Mesh-reinforced PFA | Chemical properties similar to F4; excellent resistance to negative pressure; higher price |
Instrument temperature limits: use rubber lining at ≤60°C and PTFE lining at ≤120°C for the stated instrument. The higher generic material reference values in the selection guide are not ratings for the assembled flowmeter.

Keep the measuring tube full. Install in a low section of horizontal pipe or in upward flow, avoiding the highest point and vertical downward-flow sections. For open discharge, locate the sensor in the lower pipe section. Where the downstream drop exceeds 5m, fit an air-release valve downstream of the sensor.
Place the flowmeter on the pump outlet side. Provide at least 10D of straight pipe upstream and 5D downstream, where D is the internal meter diameter. Set the flow direction, range, output type and communication parameters for the receiving system. Use the English operation manual for active or passive current-output wiring, pulse-output DIP settings and zero calibration.
