Assembled Temperature Probes with Two-Chamber Flameproof Heads

Description

Replaceable elements in a two-chamber head

This assembled construction uses a two-chamber aluminum flameproof connection head, with measuring elements accessible for replacement. The listed head marking is dIIBT4. Available elements are K and E thermocouples, Pt100 platinum RTDs and Cu50 copper RTDs.

Element and protective-tube options

Sensor type Element Protective-tube material Operating range Tolerance
Nickel-chromium / nickel-silicon K 06Cr18Ni11Ti -40-850°C Class I: ±max(1.5, 0.004×|t|)°C
Class II: ±max(2.5, 0.0075×|t|)°C
1Cr25Ni20 0-1000°C
GH30 alloy 0-1100°C
3YC-52 alloy Single: 0-1200°C; dual: 0-1100°C
Nickel-chromium / copper-nickel E 06Cr18Ni11Ti Single: -40-650°C; dual: -40-550°C
Platinum RTD Pt100 06Cr18Ni11Ti or 0Cr18Ni12Mo2Ti -200-500°C Class A: ±(0.15+0.002×|t|)°C
Class B: ±(0.30+0.005×|t|)°C
Copper RTD Cu50 -50-100°C ±(0.30+0.006×|t|)°C

In these formulas, t is the numerical value of temperature in °C, |t| is its absolute value, and max(a, b) means the larger value. All tolerances are temperature deviations in °C. Class I and II apply to thermocouples; Class A and B apply to Pt100 RTDs.

Mounting and insertion selection

Mounting code Mounting form Protective tube Nominal pressure
1 No fixed mounting Straight; 12mm or 16mm Atmospheric pressure
2 Fixed thread 10MPa
3 Sliding flange Atmospheric pressure
4 Fixed flange Determined by flange form

The aluminum flameproof head is listed as connection-head code 4. Insertion choices are 100mm, 150mm, 200mm, 250mm, 300mm, 400mm, 500mm, 750mm and 1000mm. A 16mm protective tube on a thermocouple also permits 1500mm and 2000mm insertion.
