These vertical float switches use screw-fastened collars to limit float travel along a stainless steel stem. Collar position and float spacing can be adjusted within the working region of the fixed internal reed switches. Specify the required sensing elevations when ordering a custom assembly, and test contact operation after any adjustment.
Single-float versions provide one level signal; double-float versions provide two signals for upper and lower level monitoring. The float and stem are 304 stainless steel as standard, with 316 stainless steel available. A threaded fitting and sealed cable entry support installation in water tanks, liquid vessels and compatible industrial equipment.

| Parameter | 1A1 | 2A1 |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum contact rating | 10VA | 50VA |
| Maximum switching voltage | 100VAC/DC | 220VAC/DC |
| Maximum switching current | 0.5A | 1.5A |
| Breakdown-voltage reference | 110VAC/DC | 300VAC/DC |
| Maximum contact resistance | 100mΩ | |
| Operating temperature | −30–120°C | |
Keep voltage, current and contact power within their limits simultaneously. The reed contact supplies a control signal to a relay, contactor interface or suitable input. Use a load-rated relay or contactor for pumps and solenoid valves.
| Configuration | Lead insulation | Level signals |

These model references identify the adjustable-collar construction. Select the stem length, sensing positions, thread, cable length, float count and material for the installation.
In the standard below-closed arrangement, the contact closes as the float falls back to the reed position and opens as the float rises away. Reversing the float changes the operating logic. Check continuity at both ends of the permitted travel before connecting the control system.
The attached wiring drawing illustrates one float contact driving a 14-pin relay. It is a single-signal circuit; a double-float control system requires the intended upper and lower signals to be connected to its controller.
| Connection in the relay example | Function |
|---|---|
| L to 10 and 13 | Live supply to load-contact common and relay coil |
| N to 11 and float lead 1 | Neutral supply and float return |
| Float lead 2 to 14 | Completes the relay-coil circuit when the float contact closes |
| Output terminals 6 and 7 | Switched load connections |
Use a relay with the matching coil voltage and terminal arrangement. A 220VAC control circuit requires the 220VAC-rated contact option. Select the relay or contactor for the actual load and its starting current.
Provide unobstructed float movement and tighten the collars after adjustment. Match the stainless steel and cable to the liquid and temperature, and specify the tank pressure and mounting conditions. Water, light oil and compatible industrial liquids are typical applications; heavy sludge and debris can restrict movement. Disconnect power before wiring or adjustment, then test the complete level-control sequence.
