TBB0.38 and TBB0.4 capacitor cabinets provide automatic reactive power compensation using a controller, capacitor-switching contactors and low-voltage shunt capacitors. The controller measures the line condition and switches capacitor steps to follow the reactive power demand. The model schedules retain both cabinet families and their corresponding capacitor step arrangements.

The TBB0.4 control arrangement is intended for three-phase 380V transformer installations with transformer capacities of 50-1000kVA. Its LED indication distinguishes lagging and leading power factor over the listed 0.00-0.99 ranges. Three function keys set power factor, switching delay and overvoltage protection, with status indicators for operation and protection.
On the TBB0.4 arrangement, the overvoltage setting is adjustable from 400V to 450V and is preset to 420V. When the threshold is exceeded, the display changes to line voltage and capacitor steps are disconnected. Automatic operation resumes when the voltage returns to normal. The listed mains interference-pulse capability is 2000V.
The two model-prefix families share the step and enclosure dimensions shown below. Select the voltage configuration and controller arrangement for the intended installation. H×W×D denotes cabinet height, width and depth.

Additional output selections include 22.5kvar, 36kvar, 72kvar, 90kvar, 140kvar, 180kvar, 220kvar and 375kvar. Specify the step schedule and enclosure separately for outputs without a listed cabinet model above.
The compensation arrangement uses CJ19 capacitor-switching contactors with BSMJ0.4 self-healing shunt capacitors. Step counts vary by cabinet, so match the controller output count to the selected schedule rather than assuming that every cabinet uses the same number of circuits.
