Connect serial Modbus devices to an industrial network
GW MR gateways provide Modbus RTU master or slave operation on the serial side and a model-specific industrial Ethernet slave interface on the network side. Select the network protocol first, then the one-, two- or three-channel version. The network protocol is fixed by the model designation; the five network options are separate products.
Model selection
| Network protocol | One-channel model | Two-channel model | Three-channel model |
| PROFINET | GW-PN-1MR | GW-PN-2MR | GW-PN-3MR |
| EtherCAT | GW-EC-1MR | GW-EC-2MR | GW-EC-3MR |
| EtherNet/IP | GW-EIP-1MR | GW-EIP-2MR | GW-EIP-3MR |
| CC-Link IE Field Basic | GW-CB-1MR | GW-CB-2MR | GW-CB-3MR |
| Modbus TCP | GW-MT-1MR | GW-MT-2MR | GW-MT-3MR |
Each channel-count option supports RS232, RS485 and RS422. The counts below describe the supported serial interface modes and must not be added together to calculate independent physical ports.
| Model suffix | RS232 channels | RS485 channels | RS422 channels |
|---|
| 1MR | 1 | 1 | 1 |
| 2MR | 2 | 2 | 2 |
| 3MR | 3 | 3 | 3 |
