|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Explanation: |
Series CZ-93 - Key actuated safety door switch series |
Contacts B - 2NC |
Cable entry PM - M20×1.5 |
Operating key NONE - No operating key supplied; omit the key code and the preceding plus sign |
CZ-93 switches use a separate operating key to actuate the contact mechanism as a door moves. Choose a 1NC/1NO contact block with code C or a 2NC block with code B. NC contacts have a direct-opening mechanism; this function does not apply to NO contacts. The housing has IP65 protection and an adjustable head orientation.
Choose the key mounting style and insertion path together. The five configurations below use the C contact block and PM cable entry. B contacts and PG cable entry are ordering options, not features included in every CPM configuration. A switch ordered without a key requires a separately specified matching key. No guard-locking function or system PL/SIL rating is specified.
| Selection | Code | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Series | CZ-93 | Key actuated safety door switch |
| Contact block | B | 2NC |
| C | 1NC/1NO | |
| Cable entry | PM | M20×1.5 |
| PG | PG11 | |
| Operating key | Omitted | No key supplied; omit the plus sign and key code |
| K1 | Horizontal mounting | |
| K2 | Vertical mounting | |
| K3 | Adjustable horizontal mounting | |
| K5 | Adjustable horizontal or vertical mounting |
For example, CZ-93CPM+K1 specifies a 1NC/1NO switch with M20×1.5 entry and a K1 horizontal key. The hyphen belongs to the fixed series identifier CZ-93; the plus sign separates the optional key.

| Configuration | Key | Horizontal insertion radius | Vertical insertion radius | Key mounting surface setting |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CZ-93CPM | None supplied | Select a matching operating key before setting the installation geometry | ||
| CZ-93CPM+K1 | Horizontal | At least 200mm | At least 200mm | 44–46.5mm |
| CZ-93CPM+K2 | Vertical | 40–42.5mm | ||
| CZ-93CPM+K3 | Adjustable horizontal | At least 50mm | 45–47.5mm | |
| CZ-93CPM+K5 | Adjustable horizontal or vertical | At least 50mm | 51.9–54.4mm | |
Mounting surface settings refer to the datums shown in the attached installation drawings. Key center alignment must remain within ±1mm of the insertion-slot center in both directions. Use the specified insertion radius and keep the key perpendicular to its slot. Adjustable-key drawings show 20° adjustment for K3, and 15° and 18° in the two illustrated planes for K5; use the drawings to match the adjustment plane to the door path.

The thermal current, general switching ratings and AC-15 operating rating describe different conditions. A 10A value in the general-load table is not a 10A AC-15 rating. AC frequency is not the permissible number of mechanical switching operations per second.

NO columns apply only where an NO contact is fitted. Use a suitable 10A gG/gI fuse complying with IEC 60269 for the specified short-circuit protection arrangement; no fuse is built into the switch. Select protection and wiring for the complete circuit.

| CE specification | EN 60947-5-1 |
Obtain the applicable model-specific documents where certification is required. The NC direct-opening mechanism provides mechanical separation of NC contacts; it does not establish a complete machine safety performance level.
Provide a separate mechanical door stop. Keep the operating key within the 0.5–3mm setting region so that its base cannot strike the switch head. Secure the door against movement caused by weight, vibration or rebound. Do not use the switch or key as a door stop, and do not exceed the stated shock limits.
Mount the body and key using M4 screws and spring washers. Use fasteners or equivalent measures that prevent easy removal. Body drawings show 20±0.1mm and 22±0.1mm mounting dimensions and 47±0.1mm vertical spacing; follow the applicable hole arrangement. Optional lower locating pins are at most 4.8mm high and Ø4mm with -0.05/-0.15mm tolerance. K1/K2 mounting centers are 15±0.1mm; K3 centers are 40±0.1mm. The K5 slotted arrangement is shown separately in the attachment.

The head can be oriented in four directions after loosening its corner screws. Keep foreign material out and do not insert or remove the key while the head is detached. Use the designated matching key; do not substitute tools or force the mechanism. Avoid excessive force or impacts on an inserted key.
Isolate power before wiring. Use insulated M3.5 crimp terminals with 0.5–0.75mm² conductors, approximately AWG20–AWG18. Keep terminal thickness at or below 0.5mm, and position terminals so the cover closes without compressing them against the housing. Remove wire fragments before closing the enclosure.

Match the gland sealing range to the cable diameter and its thread to the selected PM or PG entry. Use a gland with a threaded length of 9mm or less to avoid internal interference. Avoid silicone oil in wiring materials because it can affect contact reliability.
Standard contacts are intended for at least 24VDC and 10mA. Below this load, current may not break through surface films, so use a contact version specified for the signal level. Do not move a contact already used for general loads into a smaller-capacity signal circuit. Provide suitable contact suppression where arcing, noise or inrush affects operation.
Select and validate the complete door-monitoring arrangement for the machine. Applications involving exceptional reliability, hazardous atmospheres, severe environmental exposure, aerospace or military use require a specifically assessed design. The switch's component ratings do not replace that assessment.
