| Explanation: |
Series CZ-7 - Standard horizontal limit switch family |
Actuator 140 - Short lever |
CZ-7 horizontal limit switches provide snap-action changeover contacts with a choice of lever, roller, plunger and flexible spring-rod actuators. Choose the head to suit the direction of approach, available operating force and permitted travel. The IP64 rating applies to the operating surface; protect the terminal area and keep the switch out of oil or water immersion.
The model consists of the fixed family identifier CZ-7 followed directly by the three-digit actuator code. For example, CZ-7121 selects the long roller lever. All models use one normally open and one normally closed contact sharing COM. The following lever values apply in the operating direction shown in the dimensional drawing.

Confirm the applicable conformity documentation for the selected model and destination before specifying an approval requirement.
Use the model-specific drawing in the attachment to establish actuator clearances and position datums. Most bodies have54±0.2mm length,21.4±0.4mm width, twoØ4.2±0.2mm mounting holes on25.4±0.15mm centers, and a cable sleeve extending16.5mm maximum. The plain-lever drawings specify54.4±0.2mm body length and21.4±0.15mm width. Do not substitute body mounting datums for the panel-plunger OP datum.

Use flat and spring washers for side mounting. Remove the actuator hex nut when side-mounting CZ-7310, CZ-7311 or CZ-7312. Do not exceed the panel mounting torque limit. The installation drawing specifies twoØ4.3mm clearance holes or M4 tapped holes on25.4±0.15mm centers.

The cable outlet sealing rubber acceptsØ8.5–10.5mm cable; the stated outlet example uses2-core or3-core VCT1.25mm² cable. Choose a cable and termination that meet both their relevant requirements. For insulated M3.5 crimp connections, use0.5–0.75mm² conductors (AWG20–18) and terminals no thicker than0.5mm. The terminal drawing specifies holeØ3.7mm, barrelØ2.9mm, width6.6mm, length19mm, and7.7mm/8mm section lengths. Route wires so that the cover closes freely and terminals cannot press against the case.
Isolate power before wiring or maintenance and keep wire fragments out of the enclosure. Avoid persistent vibration, impacts, metal chips, silicone contamination, hot water above60°C and steam. Open the terminal cover carefully without deforming its mating edges. Use contact-protection circuitry for inductive or high-inrush loads where required.
Standard contacts require at least24VDC and10mA for the stated low-load guidance. Select a contact design intended for smaller signals when operating below this range, and do not reuse contacts previously switched at general loads for small-signal duty. These switches require separate application approval for personnel-safety, high-reliability, explosive-atmosphere or similarly demanding service.
