| Explanation: |
Series CZ-3 - Cast aluminum prewired limit switch family |
Actuator 101 - Pin plunger |
Cable material NONE - PVC cable; omit the material code while retaining the separator before the length code |
Cable length L1 - 1m cable |
CZ-3 prewired limit switches combine a cast aluminum body, IP67 protection and snap-action 1NO+1NC contacts. The 14 actuator variants cover direct plunger operation, roller contact, adjustable lever reach and flexible spring sensing. Choose the head for the approach direction and travel, then specify cable material and length.
The fixed CZ-3 identifier is followed by the actuator code, a hyphen, an optional U material code and the L length code. CZ-3104-UL2 selects the roller lever with a 2m oil-resistant PUR cable. Omitting U selects PVC, as in CZ-3104-L2. The length designations L1–L5 correspond to 1–5m; requirements beyond those lengths can be specified separately.

| Standard material | Omitted | PVC cable |
| Oil-resistant material | U | PUR cable |
| Length | L1/L2/L3/L4/L5 | 1m/2m/3m/4m/5m respectively |

Lever characteristics use a 38.5mm operating radius; adjustable versions must be set to that reference to reproduce the stated force. Flexible-head measurements use the two-thirds position along the initially unbent head spring. Apply the operating object within the upper one-third measured from the tip. A dash means unspecified; no OP value is stated for these angular models.

The dimensional drawings specify a Ø8mm cable with four 0.5mm² conductors. The cable outlet is resin molded. Secure the cable 50mm below the switch and maintain a minimum bend radius of 45mm to avoid loading the seal or damaging the insulation. Disconnect power before making connections. Provide a series fuse coordinated with the load and fault conditions; the stated cutoff-current reference is 1.5–2 times the switch rated current and must be assessed with the fuse's time-current and breaking-capacity data.
Body width is 40mm and thickness is 16mm. Plunger and spring models show a 48.5mm body height; lever versions show 51.5mm. Two Ø5.2mm mounting holes are spaced 25mm apart, with Ø10mm counterbores 6mm deep. The mounting plate drawing specifies 25±0.1mm centers and Ø5.2mm clearance holes or M5 tapped holes.

Spring constructions use Ø1.2mm stainless steel wire and Ø5.8mm coil diameter. Refer to the model drawing for the head-height datum. Up to six switches can be mounted as a group at 16mm spacing: engage each front locating projection with the next rear recess and use a flat mounting panel at least 6mm thick.
| Drawing reference | Fastener | Tightening torque |
|---|---|---|
| 1:lever fastening | M5 hex socket bolt | 4.90–5.88N·m |
| 2:head mounting | M3.5 screw | 0.78–0.88N·m |
| 3:body mounting | M5 hex socket bolt | 4.90–5.88N·m |
The head can be rotated 180° after removing its two screws. Keep contamination out during adjustment and retighten to the specified torque. For plungers, set the cam so the plunger groove aligns with the sleeve top; the setting drawing shows a 2.8mm reference. For roller levers, position the arrow between the two raised marks. Use a smooth cam or stop with an approach angle below 30°, surface finish 6.3S or smoother, and hardness HV400–500.
The switch is supplied prewired. The following conductor and crimp-terminal data apply to external connections; they do not authorize opening the molded outlet or replacing the factory cable.
| Conductor type | Cores | Conductor size | Finished cable OD |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flexible insulated wire | 2 | 0.5–0.75mm² | Circular,Ø6–9mm |
| 3 | |||
| 4 | |||
| 600V plastic-insulated, plastic-sheathed VVF cable | 2 | Ø1mm/Ø1.2mm/Ø1.6mm conductor |
For insulated M3.5 crimp connections, the stated conductor range is 0.5–0.75mm² (AWG20–18), with terminals no thicker than 0.5mm. The terminal sketch specifies a Ø3.7mm hole, Ø2.9mm barrel, 6.6mm width, 19mm length and 7.7mm/8mm section lengths. Prevent loose wire fragments and mechanical pressure on terminals.
Keep chips and deposits away from moving parts. Choose rubber-boot plunger models where dirt can impede return. Assess seals for exposure to cutting fluids, solvents and other chemicals, and avoid steam or water above 70°C. Minimize vibration, impact, resonance and silicone contamination. For signals below 24VDC/10mA, use a contact design suited to small loads; contacts used previously for general loads should not be reassigned to small-signal duty. Apply appropriate contact protection for inductive and high-inrush loads. Demanding safety or hazardous-environment applications require separate application approval.
