| Part Number: | CTI | - | 8RS | - | 100A |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Explanation: |
Product Series CTI - Multi-channel AC current monitoring module |
Channel Configuration 4RS - Four channels with the fixed RS suffix |
Measuring Range 100A - 100A measuring-range upper limit; used by the three listed complete models |
CTI measures AC current independently on four, six or eight channels and sends the results over RS-485 using Modbus RTU. A 32-bit controller calculates effective current from each current transformer's signal waveform. Configurable alarm logic can associate one or more channels with a shared relay output, while the relay can also serve as an output controlled through communication.
The module accepts a 12–28VDC supply, consumes ≤1.5W and samples at 100ms intervals. Its separate current-transformer openings leave space for threading conductors and wiring maintenance. The three complete models listed below all carry the 100A upper-range code.
| Complete model | Independent current channels | Upper-range code | Communication |
|---|---|---|---|
| CTI-4RS-100A | 4 | 100A | RS-485; Modbus RTU |
| CTI-6RS-100A | 6 | ||
| CTI-8RS-100A | 8 |
In CTI-8RS-100A, CTI identifies the current-monitoring family, 8 specifies eight channels with the fixed RS suffix, and 100A identifies the measuring-range upper limit. Preserve the two hyphens in the complete code. The general specification lists 50A and 100A measurement ranges; complete 50A model codes are not separately listed.

| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Measured quantity | Multi-channel AC effective current |
| Supply voltage | 12–28VDC |
| Power consumption | ≤1.5W |
| General measurement ranges | 50A and 100A; listed complete models use 100A |
| Detection resolution | 0.1A |
| Sampling period | 100ms |
| Basic error | ±1%FS |
| Overcurrent capacity | 150% of measuring range |
| Input signal | 9–30V |
| Relay contact rating | 3A at 220VAC or 30VDC |
| Ambient temperature | −20°C to +50°C |
| Ambient humidity | 15–90%RH, non-condensing |
The 100A measuring range and the 3A relay-contact rating describe different circuits. The module measures current through its transformers; the relay provides the shared alarm or communication-controlled output. The 150% overcurrent-capacity entry has no stated duration in the selection document.
| Terminal | Connection | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Supply + | Positive module power supply |
| 2 | Supply − | Negative module power supply |
| 3 | RS485+ | Positive communication line |
| 4 | RS485− | Negative communication line |
| 5 | INA | Input signal A |
| 6 | INB | Input signal B |
| 7 | Relay NC | Normally closed contact |
| 8 | Relay COM | Common contact |
| 9 | Relay NO | Normally open contact |

| DIP switch 8 | Communication configuration |
|---|---|
| ON | 9600baud, 8N1 with no parity; address set by DIP switches 1–7 |
| OFF | Address, baud rate and parity parameters are determined by registers 202, 203 and 204 |
For address selection with switch 8 ON, treat each switch ON as 1 and OFF as 0. The address calculation is DIP1 + 2×DIP2 + 4×DIP3 + 8×DIP4 + 16×DIP5 + 32×DIP6 + 64×DIP7. Restart the module after changing communication parameters for the changes to take effect.

Integration requires the matching Modbus register definitions for data access and configuration beyond the DIP-switch settings.
| Indicator | State | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| RUN | Steady on | Alarm evaluation is enabled |
| Short flashing | Alarm evaluation is inhibited | |
| COM | Flashing | Communication is in progress |
| ALARM | Steady on | An alarm is present |
The single independent relay can be associated with one or more channel alarm signals, or used as a communication-controlled output point. Multiple alarm-logic modes support different channel-alarm arrangements.
The illustrated eight-channel layout has a 225×85mm footprint and 9.5mm internal current-transformer openings. These dimensions apply to the illustrated eight-channel configuration.

The three-page attachment preserves model selection, specifications, terminal definitions, communication-switch instructions, indicators, relay modes and industrial-use precautions. Regional specifications may differ.
