Description

Miniature switches with selectable actuators and terminals

CMV miniature snap-action switches provide compact position detection with exposed quick-connect terminals. The sixteen CMV10 models below combine eight actuator styles with 250 or 187 terminals. Each listed model has 1NO+1NC contacts. Choose the actuator geometry and operating force for the available mechanism travel, then select the terminal that matches the wiring connector.

Ordering-code structure

CMV10-031C2 comprises CMV, current code 10, a hyphen, actuator code 03, contact code 1 and terminal code C2. It identifies a 10A-family long roller lever switch with 1NO+1NC contacts and 187 terminals. Current code 16, contact codes 2 and 3, and actuator code 07 are additional ordering options; their availability and dimensional configuration must be specified separately from the sixteen CMV10 models shown here.

Load-specific switching currents

Values are amperes. The 10A and 16A designations identify different rating families; permissible current also depends on voltage and load type. Each merged value applies to both NC and NO contacts. CMV16 data are selection references and do not change the ratings of CMV10 models.

Operating force and travel

Each row applies to both terminal versions listed in that row. OF is maximum operating force; RF is minimum release force; PT is maximum pretravel; OT is minimum overtravel; MD is maximum differential travel; OP is operating position. Forces and positions relate to the actuator dimensions shown in the attachment.

In the movement diagram, FP denotes free position, RP release position, TTP total-travel position, TT total travel and TF total-travel force. COM, NC and NO identify the common, normally closed and normally open terminals. Select the contact form before specifying the external circuit.

Dimensions and installation

The basic body measures 27.8×10.3×15.9mm, with 22.2±0.1mm mounting centers. The terminal envelope differs between C and C2 versions. Use the complete outline and tolerances for the exact model before preparing mounting holes or connector clearance.

Lever thickness is 0.6mm stainless steel. Metal rollers can be specified separately for roller-lever models. Mount with M3 screws, flat washers and spring washers at 0.39-0.59N·m. Align the matching 187 or 250 female connector with its terminal and push straight on. Sideways, upward or downward force can deform the terminal or damage the housing.

600V plastic-insulated, plastic-sheathed VF cable2Ø1mm, Ø1.2mm or Ø1.6mm

Avoid silicone-oil-containing cable materials because contamination can impair contact reliability. Standard contacts require at least 24VDC/10mA. For smaller signals, specify an appropriate low-load version; contacts already used on general loads must not be reassigned to small loads. Use suitable RC suppression and contact protection where bounce, noise or impulse current can reduce endurance.

The associated rating test states 50,000 cycles at T105, 0-105°C. This test condition does not replace the general -20°C to +70°C operating range. Personnel protection, high-reliability infrastructure, outdoor or harsh chemical environments, fire or explosion hazards, nuclear, military and aerospace applications require a separately specified design and application approval.
