CLN controllers use a large segmented LCD to show the measured process value, PV, and the setpoint, SV, on separate rows. The range combines a 32-bit MCU, a 100ms sampling interval, the manufacturer's AI adjustment algorithm and automatic tuning. PID heating, PID cooling, ON/OFF heating and ON/OFF cooling are available control modes.
Four photographed panel formats cover 48×48mm, 48×96mm, 72×72mm and 96×96mm installations. Select relay, SSR drive or analog control hardware together with the required alarm and expansion functions. RS485 communication, primary analog control and separate retransmission output are distinct choices; the display and keypad alone do not identify which interfaces are installed.

| Field | Codes and meaning | Selection condition |
|---|---|---|
| Series / digits | CLN: LCD dual display PID controller; 4: four-digit, 9999 display format | The display format does not specify a temperature measuring range. |
| Panel format | S: 48×48mm; V: 48×96mm; M: 72×72mm; L: 96×96mm; H: 96×48mm | S, V, M and L have photographs, detailed drawings and complete common models. H is a wider guide option without those separate details in this document. |
| Supply | 2: 24–48VAC/DC; 4: 100–240VAC; A–Z letter combinations: other custom supply versions | AC supply frequency is 50/60Hz. The complete common models below use code 4. |
| Control output | 1: relay; 2: SSR drive; 3A: analog current, 0–20mA or 4–20mA; 3B: analog voltage, 0–5V or 1–5V; 4: SCR zero-crossing output; 5: built-in 5A SCR; 6: relay plus SSR drive | The common 43A1 selections specify 4–20mA control. Other letter combinations describe custom output versions. |
| Alarm output | 1: one relay alarm; 2: two relay alarms; 3: one solid-state alarm; 4: two solid-state alarms; letter combinations: custom alarm version | Use the actual hardware alarm arrangement; common full models use relay alarms. |
| Temperature input | No code: thermocouples K, E, J, L, T, R or S; RTDs Pt100 or Cu50. Letter combinations: custom input version | The common models use the default universal input. Configure the selected sensor type before operation. |
| Retransmission | No code: absent; T: retransmission output | Separate from the primary control output; no specific retransmission signal range is stated in this selection table. |
| Communication | No code: absent; R: RS485 | The full model tables document R and T variants separately. |
Custom letter codes represent a specified version, rather than a freely interchangeable suffix. Order the exact code supplied for the required custom supply, output or input configuration.
All models in this table use 100–240VAC and universal thermocouple/RTD input. The configuration column identifies the control interface, relay alarm count and any additional output or communication function.

SSR drive is a control signal for an external solid-state relay, rather than a heater power output. The catalog's separate contact certification entries list AC-15 at 380VAC and 250VAC, 3A, and DC-12 at 24–48VDC, 3A. Those entries do not increase the controller supply range or replace its relay output specification. CE and EN61010-1 are referenced in the catalog; obtain the applicable document from CNTD when required for a project.
Dimensions are in millimeters. Cutout lower deviations are zero. Installation spacing is measured between the centers of adjacent cutouts.
| Panel format | Front size | Nominal shell size | Cutout | Minimum horizontal × vertical centers |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CLN4S | 48×48 | 48×48×71 | 45(+0.6/0)×45(+0.6/0) | 65×65 |
| CLN4V | 48×96 | 48×96×71 | 46(+0.6/0)×92(+0.8/0) | 65×115 |
| CLN4M | 72×72 | 72×72×71 | 68(+0.7/0)×68(+0.7/0) | 90×90 |
| CLN4L | 96×96 | 96×96×71 | 92(+0.8/0)×92(+0.8/0) | 115×115 |
The wider guide also names H, a 96×48mm horizontal option. Its general table lists a nominal 96×48×71mm shell and a 91×45mm opening, but provides no separate full model selection, photograph or detailed H outline. Treat that entry as a guide reference and obtain the actual version's mechanical drawing before preparing its panel.
| Panel format | Front / rear side-view callouts | Additional side-view dimension |
|---|---|---|
| CLN4S | 6.5 / 67.9 | 55.3 |
| CLN4V | 6 / 65 | 91.5 |
| CLN4M | 6 / 65 | 67 |
| CLN4L | 6 / 65 | 91.5 |
Reserve space for the individual side-view dimensions, mounting clips, terminals and wiring. For CLN4S, check the separate 6.5mm and 67.9mm callouts rather than using the nominal 71mm shell entry alone.

The LCD layout also shows OUT1, OUT2, AT, RSV, MAN, PGM, AL3, SV1, SV2, SV3 and °C/°F/% segments. These are display legends; their presence does not independently specify extra alarm hardware, program control or additional setpoint functions in a particular ordered model.
The example heater loop returns the sensor signal to the controller and switches the heater through an external SSR. ON/OFF control and manual output are illustrated, including 50% and 80% output examples over a 50-cycle window. Match the sensor, output interface, power switching device and protective functions to the actual process.
The manufacturer requires specially designed equipment and written confirmation for high reliability energy systems, applications involving personal safety or major property risk, harsh or outdoor environments, fire or explosion risks, and military or aerospace use.
