CNTD CJY/M cylindrical inductive proximity sensors use a direct male M12 four-pin A-coded connector for metal-position detection. Sensing housings in M12, M18 and M30 sizes cover 2–15mm nominal distances with flush or nonflush installation. Nickel-plated brass bodies, red operating LEDs and IP65 protection support ordinary industrial sensing within the specified environmental limits.
All transistor models use 10–30VDC. DNA/DNB are NPN NO/NC; DPA/DPB are PNP NO/NC; DNC/DPC provide NO+NC outputs. The single-output connector drawing does not define both conductors of a combined-output version.

All AC two-wire models are 20Hz. Frequencies are average values using the specified standard target, an interval between successive targets equal to twice the target width, and a target-to-sensor gap equal to half the nominal detection distance. Use the setting range to choose the operating gap.

Standard and IEC DC two-wire pinouts are different. Match the sensor variant to the cable assembly. Use the connector-face drawings in the attachment for pin numbering and orientation; the same M12 housing does not guarantee the same circuit assignment.
| Configuration | Active connections | Other pins | Load connection |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard DC two-wire, NO or NC | Pin 4: brown / positive side; pin 3: blue / 0V side | Pins 1 and 2 unused | Load and sensor in series; load can be placed in either lead |
| IEC DC two-wire, NO | Pin 1: brown / positive side; pin 4: blue / 0V side | Pins 2 and 3 unused | |
| IEC DC two-wire, NC | Pin 1: brown / positive side; pin 2: blue / 0V side | Pins 3 and 4 unused | |
| Single-output NPN | Pin 1: brown / +V; pin 3: blue / 0V; pin 4: black / output | Pin 2 not assigned in the single-output diagram | Between +V and pin 4 |
| Single-output PNP | Pin 1: brown / +V; pin 3: blue / 0V; pin 4: black / output | Pin 2 not assigned in the single-output diagram | Between pin 4 and 0V |
| AC two-wire, NO or NC | Brown and blue are the two sides of the switching circuit | Pins 1 and 4 internally connected; pins 2 and 3 internally connected | Series load on 90–250VAC; load may be in either lead |
When a conventional DC three-wire cordset is used with the standard DC two-wire configuration, its black conductor on pin 4 is the positive-side connection and blue on pin 3 is 0V; brown on pin 1 is unused. The connector tightening torque is 0.39–0.49N·m. Secure the cable and connection with tape where vibration occurs, as described in the installation instructions. Complete output circuits and NO/NC timing charts remain in the attachment.

Use for ordinary industrial metal-position detection within the stated target, gap, circuit and mounting conditions. Regional specifications can differ. The manufacturer excludes personnel-safety functions, exceptionally high-reliability nuclear, gas and power systems, severe outdoor or contaminated conditions, fire or explosion hazards, strong acids or alkalis, and military or aerospace applications unless specifically designed and confirmed for that use.
