Description

CH6 combines preset counting and timing in 48mm and 72mm panel instruments. Counter operation offers nine input patterns, eleven output modes, batch counting and an adjustable initial count. Timer operation offers thirteen output modes, forward/countdown timing, twelve time formats and power-off memory.

The complete INA/INB charts distinguish the gating, edge and phase relationships for each pattern. In the charts, A must be at least the minimum signal width and B at least half that width. Shorter signals can produce a count error of ±1.

Choose the required threshold, pulse, hold and reset behavior from the response charts. A one-stage instrument's OUT corresponds to OUT2 of a two-stage instrument. In two-stage operation, OUT1 can use one-shot or hold output. OUT1's preset can be zero in all output modes; OUT2's preset cannot be zero in C, R, P or Q.
