Description

CDV6 three-phase voltage relays monitor phase sequence, phase loss and selected voltage faults through one changeover output. Choose a P version for line-to-line monitoring in a three-wire system or an N version for line-to-neutral monitoring in a four-wire system. Six function codes provide different combinations of adjustable and fixed thresholds.

The percentage voltage limits are deviations from the selected nominal voltage. Use the function-specific values above: the adjustable family ranges do not apply to fixed-threshold models. Harmonic-resistant configurations are available for applications with greater electrical interference.

Panel controls and response charts

Front controls for CDV6 functions 3 through 8 and P and N nominal voltage scales
Controls differ by function: voltage selection, upper/lower limits, imbalance and delay are provided where applicable.
CDV6 phase-loss and sequence, voltage-limit and imbalance timing diagrams
All three response diagrams: phase loss/sequence, overvoltage/undervoltage and voltage imbalance. To, Tu and Ta are the corresponding fault action delays; excursions shorter than the applicable delay are distinguished.

Wiring and dimensions

Connect all required phases, and neutral for an N version, to the monitoring terminals. Use the single 11/12/14 changeover to control the contactor circuit. The connection diagram includes a contactor example; select its control circuit to match the relay contact ratings.

Applications and operating conditions

Applications include equipment monitoring for tower cranes, air conditioners, elevators, agricultural equipment and refrigerated trucks, prevention of reverse operation, normal/emergency supply switching control and phase-loss monitoring for power loads. Select the function and voltage system for the installation.

These industrial relays are not intended for exceptionally high-reliability nuclear, gas or power systems; personal or property safety functions; harsh outdoor, contaminated, electromagnetic, vibration or shock environments; fire or explosion hazards; or military and aerospace applications unless specifically designed for that use and confirmed in writing.
