CDP2-VA Overvoltage, Undervoltage and Overcurrent Protectors

Description

CDP2-VA protects single-phase loads against overvoltage, undervoltage and overcurrent while displaying voltage and current together. Its menu provides separate voltage trip and recovery thresholds, independent trip/recovery delays, a startup delay and automatic or manual reclosing modes. Three complete models have maximum operating-current ratings of 40A, 63A and 80A.

The protector uses a 32-bit controller and magnetic latching power relay in a 36mm-wide enclosure. Working supply voltage is 80–350V at 45–70Hz, with ≤1W consumption and 1% stated accuracy for both voltage and current. The VA version's dual display and 16-item menu differ from the VAW version's energy/power display.

Models and Ordering Fields

Complete modelMaximum operating currentCurrent range in general tableProtection
CDP2-VA/40A40A0.1–40AOvervoltage, undervoltage and overcurrent
CDP2-VA/63A63A0.1–63A
CDP2-VA/80A80A0.1–80A

In CDP2-VA/63A, C is the fixed prefix, DP2 identifies the family, VA selects the combined protection functions and 63A states the current rating. Both the hyphen and slash belong to the complete code.

Dual Display and Reclosing Modes

The upper line shows voltage or the menu item; the lower line shows current, menu content or the recovery countdown. Separate indicators identify output state, overvoltage, undervoltage and overcurrent. SET and up/down keys adjust the menu; the power key also acts as a shift key. Hold an arrow key for rapid value changes.

P2 modeReclosing behavior
0, defaultAutomatic reclosing after overvoltage, undervoltage or overcurrent protection
1Manual reclosing after overvoltage, undervoltage or overcurrent protection
2Manual reclosing mode

The setting lock permits modification when P1 is 110. The mode table names mode 2 as manual reclosing without a further functional breakdown.

Sixteen Settings and Defaults

The settings below apply to the illustrated 63A configuration, with 0.5–63.0A current adjustment and 0.1–60s trip-delay adjustments. Family reference ranges are 0.1A to the model's rated current and 0.1–600s for trip delay. Configure the selected current-rating version through its own menu limits and defaults.

VA has independently adjustable P5 and P9 recovery thresholds. Their default 5V offsets do not mean that the offsets are fixed, as they are on the V version. The menu also describes the out-of-range settings that disable voltage detection, alongside the nominal OV/UV adjustment intervals. The flow drawings illustrate menu navigation and selected values; use the table above for defaults.
