Description

CDH timer relays use a four-digit display and front preset switches for on-delay or repeating-cycle control. Select the output function, reset/pause capability and mounting format before choosing the supply. The range includes 48×48mm CDH48S/CDH48M and 72×72mm CDH72M versions.

Set the time base and preset value before applying power. For the S cycle function, T2 times first; its two right-hand display digits and indicator are active. At T2 expiry the relay operates and T1 is displayed on the left. At T1 expiry the relay releases and T2 starts again.

Wiring and output response

CDH on-delay and cycle timing diagrams with reset and pause
Single timed output, two timed outputs and repeating-cycle response. Terminal numbers refer to the illustrated connection format; use the diagram for the exact model.

Reset returns the timer to its initial state. Pause stops timing and holds the displayed value; opening the pause connection resumes timing. These functions apply to the variants listed with reset/pause. Use shielded signal wiring where reset or pause leads are long or exposed to strong electrical interference. Do not apply external voltage to the reset or pause terminals.

Preset procedure and load examples

Pull the cover outward at the recessed areas on both sides, set the delay value and time base, and close the cover. Wire to the housing diagram and check the selected supply voltage and frequency. Apply power after presetting; changes made after power-on do not change the active preset.

CDH timer cover opening and preset switch access
Cover opening, preset adjustment and cover closure.

For a single-phase load, the illustrated direct-switching application is limited to ≤3A resistive or ≤0.5A inductive current. Larger loads use an AC contactor. The three-phase examples use either a 380VAC timer and contactor supply or a 220VAC control supply with neutral. In these examples the load energizes when supply is applied and switches off after the preset interval through the selected contact path.

Four CDH direct-load and contactor wiring examples
Direct single-phase load, single-phase contactor, three-phase 380VAC control and three-phase 220VAC control examples. Match the timer and coil voltage to the circuit.

Application conditions

These industrial timers are not intended for exceptionally high-reliability nuclear, gas or power systems; personal or property safety functions; harsh outdoor, contaminated, electromagnetic, vibration or shock environments; fire or explosion hazards; or military and aerospace applications unless specifically designed for that use and confirmed in writing.
