| Explanation: |
Product Family CDA6 - AC current monitoring relay |
Monitoring Function 1 - Overcurrent monitoring |
Output Contact Rating 10 - 10A contact version; one changeover |
Current Setting Range A05 - 0.05–0.5A |
CDA6 monitors AC load current with a built-in isolated current transformer. Select overcurrent, undercurrent or combined monitoring functions, then choose the contact rating and current setting range. Action delay and power-on delay are independently adjustable from 0.1 to 10s to accommodate short current peaks and load starting current.
The six current ranges cover 0.05–16A. An external current transformer can extend monitoring to larger primary currents. The relay uses an 85–240VAC auxiliary supply, provides one changeover output and mounts on a 35mm DIN rail in an 18mm-wide housing. Documented applications include load monitoring, single-phase motor current monitoring and overload/underload indication.

| Field | Codes and meaning |
|---|---|
| Family | CDA6: AC current monitoring relay |
| Monitoring function | 1: overcurrent; 2: undercurrent; 3: selectable overcurrent/undercurrent with lock/non-lock modes; 4: overcurrent and undercurrent window monitoring |
| Output contact rating | 10: 10A; 16: 16A. The documented connection uses one changeover contact. |
| Current setting range | A05: 0.05–0.5A; A1: 0.1–1A; A2: 0.2–2A; A5: 0.5–5A; A8: 0.8–8A; A16: 1.6–16A |
| Overcurrent model | Undercurrent model | Current setting range | Output |
|---|---|---|---|
| CDA6-116A2 | CDA6-216A2 | 0.2–2A | One changeover; Ith 16A, Ie 5A |
| CDA6-116A5 | CDA6-216A5 | 0.5–5A | |
| CDA6-116A8 | CDA6-216A8 | 0.8–8A | |
| CDA6-116A16 | CDA6-216A16 | 1.6–16A |
The web models CDA6-1 and CDA6-2 identify overcurrent and undercurrent functions. The selection guide additionally covers CDA6-3 and CDA6-4. All eight common full models above use 16A contacts; the guide also defines 10A contacts and the A05/A1 setting ranges.
| Range code | Current setting range | Maximum passing current | Measurement accuracy |
|---|---|---|---|
| A05 | 0.05–0.5A | 1A | 10% |
| A1 | 0.1–1A | 2A | 5% |
| A2 | 0.2–2A | 5A | 5% |
| A5 | 0.5–5A | 8A | 5% |
| A8 | 0.8–8A | 12A | 5% |
| A16 | 1.6–16A | 22A | 5% |
Maximum passing current is distinct from the adjustable monitoring range. For primary currents above 16A, the wiring example uses an external CT to provide a secondary current within the selected relay range.
