C6N switches have an injection-molded plastic housing, IP67 protection and a standard side cable outlet. The body is 30mm wide, 50mm high and 16mm thick. Seventeen head designs cover direct plunger operation, roller contact, adjustable levers and flexible spring actuation. All use snap-action 1NC/1NO silver contacts.
Choose the actuator for the cam direction and available travel, then specify the cable material and length. PVC is the standard cable; code U selects oil-resistant PUR. L1–L5 designate 1–5m cables. The illustrated -L2 products have 2m cable; a base model name without a length suffix does not specify a cable length. The example C6N-P111-UL2 combines a top plunger, standard side outlet and 2m PUR cable.

OF is operating force; RF is release force; PT is pretravel; MD is movement differential; OT is overtravel; TT is total travel; OP is operating position; DOT and DOF are the travel and force for direct opening. A dash means no value is specified. TT values are references. Linear-head measurements use vertical actuation. P104/P105 use their fixed 26.5mm lever radius; adjustable-head values P107/P108/P109 are measured at a 38.5mm setting. Spring-head values are measured at two-thirds of the head spring with the spring initially unbent.
Use the two Ø4.2mm mounting holes on 20mm centers with M4 screws and suitable flat and spring washers. Keep the mounting surface rigid and the cam aligned with the selected head. The threaded plunger variants use M12×1 fittings. Refer to the attached drawings for the individual head envelopes and operating positions.
| Fastener | Tightening torque |
|---|---|
| M4 lever mounting screw | 1.2–1.4N·m |
| M4 body mounting screws | 0.6–0.8N·m |
The head can be turned 180° after removing its two screws. Refit it securely and keep particles out of the mechanism. Do not disturb the molded cable outlet. Standard drawings show a Ø6.5mm, 4×0.75mm² cable.

Make external cable connections with the power isolated. For external M3.5 crimp terminations, use 0.5–0.75mm² conductors, approximately AWG20–AWG18, with insulation sleeves. Keep terminals clear of enclosure edges and keep wire fragments out of the connection enclosure. The following reference dimensions concern external terminations; they do not authorize replacement of the factory cable.
| Crimp terminal dimension | Value |
|---|---|
| Thickness t | 0.5mm maximum |
| Stud hole Ødz | 3.7mm |
| Barrel ØD | 2.9mm |
| Width B | 6.6mm |
| Overall length L | 19mm |
| Dimension F | 7.7mm |
| Dimension l | 8.0mm |

|---|---|---|---|
| Cores | Conductor | Overall diameter | |
| Plastic or rubber insulated flexible cable | 2, 3 or 4 | 0.5–0.75mm² | Circular, Ø6–9mm |
| 600V plastic insulated, plastic sheathed cable, VVF | 2 | Ø1mm, Ø1.2mm or Ø1.6mm | |
Set a cam approach angle below 30°, a surface finish of 6.3S or smoother, and hardness HV400–500. Align the plunger groove with the sleeve top, or place a lever head's arrow between its two setting marks. Cam shape, switching frequency and overtravel affect life and repeatability; do not use the switch as a mechanical stop.
Keep chips, dust and deposits off the actuator. Cutting fluids, solvents and prolonged outdoor exposure can impair seals. Avoid installation where resonance, excessive vibration or impacts can cause unstable switching. Silicone-containing materials can contaminate contacts; avoid silicone oil in adjacent wiring and use suitable suppression where switching produces arcing.
For small loads, maintain at least 24VDC and 10mA. A general-load contact already used for higher loads should not be reassigned to a lower-capacity signal circuit. Below the minimum load, current may not break through surface films; use a contact version specified for the intended signal. Select suitable suppression for contact arcing, noise or inrush.
These are industrial position switches. Applications involving exceptional reliability, personal safety, explosive atmospheres, severe environmental exposure, aerospace or military use require a specifically assessed design. IP67 and NC direct-opening features alone do not establish suitability for those applications.
