Description

Spring-cage connections with one, two or three levels

The 245 family provides fixed PCB connections using stainless-steel springs. Single-level blocks cover 5mm, 5.08mm, 7.5mm, 7.62mm, 10mm and 10.16mm pitches. H2 and H3 versions provide two and three connection levels at 5mm or 5.08mm. Match the complete model, pole count and PCB pattern before selecting a block.

Electrical ratings and conductor preparation

Apply the rating for the specified overvoltage category and pollution degree. Single-level blocks have a 17A IEC rating; H2 and H3 versions have an 18A IEC rating. These values do not replace the separate UL use-group ratings.

Single-level dimensions and PCB layouts

All dimensions below are in millimetres. For single-level models, N is the number of poles. Each pole has two solder pins on PCB rows 5mm apart. The body is 14.1mm deep and 12.8mm high, with 0.7×0.75mm pins and 1.2mm PCB holes. Pin projection is 4±0.3mm, except that the 7.5mm outline specifies 4mm without an individual tolerance.

H2 and H3 dimensions and PCB layouts

For the 5mm H2 and H3 drawings, N denotes total contacts across both or all three levels. For the 5.08mm drawings, N denotes positions per level. H2 has one PCB pin per connection on two rows; H3 has one per connection on three rows. All use 0.7×0.75mm pins projecting 4±0.3mm below the housing.

The 5mm H2 and H3 outlines show a 2.85mm longitudinal end reference. H2 has a 1.9mm transverse edge reference. H3 shows 4.1mm at one side; the 5.08mm PCB layout also dimensions the opposite edge at 1.9mm. Use the corresponding drawing to orient the staggered levels and PCB pattern.

245H2 5mm two-level outline and PCB pattern
245H2/5.0: two connection levels, 26.5mm body height and 15mm PCB row spacing. N counts contacts across both levels.
245H3 5mm three-level outline and PCB pattern
245H3/5.0: three connection levels, 40mm body height and PCB row spacings of 10mm and 15mm. N counts contacts across all three levels.
245H2 5.08mm two-level outline and PCB pattern
245H2/5.08: 21mm body depth, 26.5mm height and 1.2mm PCB holes. N counts positions on one level.
245H3 5.08mm three-level outline and PCB pattern
245H3/5.08: 31mm body depth, 40mm height and 1.3mm PCB holes. N counts positions on one level.

Model selection and ordering

Select the series code, complete model and pitch from the model table. Use XXP for single-level pole counts, 2×XXP for H2 and 3×XXP for H3; XX is the number of positions on one level. The standard suffix is Y000A, with Y representing the colour code. Available pole counts follow the model-specific ranges above.
