2000 kVA Pad-Mounted Distribution Transformer is prepared for ground-level utility and industrial distribution. It covers 12.47kV / 13.2kV / 34.5kV input networks and 480Y/277V (Standard) output distribution. This series description presents the application, construction, protection, and specification details in finished product copy.
The 2 MVA Strategic Power Node
For ground-level utility and industrial distribution, the 2 MVA Strategic Power Node is treated as a practical design and selection point rather than generic catalog wording.
The 2000 kVA Pad Mounted Transformer functions as a decentralized substation, bringing utility-scale power directly to the building perimeter. Delivering approximately 2406 Amps at 480V, this unit effectively replaces the need for large indoor switchgear rooms, freeing up valuable interior real estate for revenue-generating activities.
As a high-performance pad mounted electrical transformer, it is engineered to bridge the gap between the raw utility grid and sensitive facility loads. Unlike smaller distribution units, this 2 MVA model is often customized with "Power Quality" features to serve data centers, hospitals, or advanced manufacturing plants where waveform purity is critical.
Fluid Engineering: Managing the Thermal Mass
For ground-level utility and industrial distribution, fluid Engineering: Managing the Thermal Mass is treated as a practical design and selection point rather than generic catalog wording.
At this capacity, the unit contains a massive volume of dielectric fluid to manage the heat generated by the core and coils.
Deep folded corrugated cooling fins on the tank wall to manage.
High-Efficiency Heat Exchange: The tank walls feature deep-folded corrugated fins (or detachable radiators) designed to maximize the wetted surface area. This promotes rapid natural convection of the oil filled pad mounted transformer, ensuring the top-oil temperature remains stable even under continuous full-load conditions.
Fire Safety (Vegetable Oil Option): For installations near occupied buildings, we recommend upgrading from standard mineral oil to Natural Ester Fluid.
The Physics: Standard mineral oil has a fire point of approx. 165°C. In contrast, natural ester fluids (vegetable-based) have a fire point exceeding 360°C. Utilizing this high-flashpoint fluid classifies the transformer as "Less Flammable" per NEC standards, often allowing it to be installed closer to windows or walls without requiring expensive fire barrier construction.
Noise Filtration: Electrostatic Shielding
For ground-level utility and industrial distribution, noise Filtration: Electrostatic Shielding is treated as a practical design and selection point rather than generic catalog wording.
Large facilities often suffer from "Common Mode Noise"-high-frequency spikes from the grid that can corrupt data or damage server power supplies.
The Barrier: To counter this, we install a Grounded Electrostatic Shield (copper sheet) between the primary and secondary windings.
The Function: This shield acts as a capacitive buffer. It intercepts high-frequency transients attempting to couple from the HV to the LV side and shunts them directly to ground. This turns the transformer into a passive power conditioner, delivering "clean" voltage to the secondary bus.
